I’m Dr Brooke Hickman, a registered Osteopath and member of Osteopathy Australia, with 20 years of clinical experience.
I hold a Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy), Master of Osteopathy, and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology).
My work centres on helping people move more easily reducing pain and restoring function. From an osteopathic perspective, I focus on improving mobility, identifying underlying contributors to dysfunction, and supporting the body’s natural capacity to heal and adapt. I enjoy working with people of all ages and stages of life. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, I work with the body as an integrated system, considering the whole person.
In clinical practice, I use gentle, hands-on osteopathic techniques — including joint mobilisation, soft tissue and fascial release, biodynamics, visceral work, and manipulation — while helping patients listen to their body’s signals and applying practical strategies to support movement, posture, and nervous system regulation in daily life.
I regularly undertake professional development in pain science, neuroscience, musculoskeletal and fascial techniques, pelvic health, pre- and post-natal care, and supportive care during and after breast cancer, ensuring my approach remains evidence-informed and tailored to each individual.
Areas of clinical interest include:
Acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain (neck, back, hips, knees, feet)
Nervous system regulation and stress-related symptoms
Jaw (TMJ) dysfunction and headaches/migraines
Postural and movement imbalances / repetitive strain
Sports- and activity-related injuries
Scar tissue / post-surgery recovery
Pelvic floor pain or dysfunction / pregnancy-related discomfort
Women’s and children’s health.
In addition to my clinical practice, I design and deliver evidence-informed workshops and programs for schools, corporate teams, and professional groups. These sessions translate osteopathic principles into practical tools by integrating osteopathy, neuroscience, psychology, and breath techniques. Participants learn to connect with their body, regulate their nervous system, and improve focus, energy, and performance — at work, during exams, or in everyday life.
Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me watching the sunrise, surfing, dancing, or spending time with my family — especially my dog, Axel.
