About Dr Brooke Hickman
Dr Brooke Hickman is a registered Osteopath and member of Osteopathy Australia, with 20 years of clinical experience.
She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy), Master of Osteopathy, and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology).
Her work centres on helping people move more easily, reducing pain and restoring function. From an osteopathic perspective, she focuses on improving mobility, identifying underlying contributors to dysfunction, and supporting the body’s natural capacity to heal and adapt. She enjoys working with people of all ages and stages of life. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, she works with the body as an integrated system, considering the whole person.
In clinical practice, she uses gentle, hands-on osteopathic techniques — including joint mobilisation, soft tissue and fascial release, biodynamics, visceral work and manipulation — while helping patients listen to their body’s signals and applying practical strategies to support movement, posture and nervous system regulation in daily life.
She regularly undertakes professional development in pain science, neuroscience, musculoskeletal and fascial techniques, pelvic health, pre- and post-natal care, and supportive care during and after breast cancer, ensuring her approach remains evidence-informed and tailored to each individual.
Areas of clinical interest include:
Acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain (neck, back, hips, knees, feet)
Nervous system regulation and stress-related symptoms
Jaw (TMJ) dysfunction and headaches/migraines
Postural and movement imbalances / repetitive strain
Sports- and activity-related injuries
Scar tissue / post-surgery recovery
Pelvic floor pain or dysfunction / pregnancy-related discomfort
Women’s and children’s health
In addition to her clinical practice, Brooke designs and delivers evidence-informed programs and workshops for schools, workplaces and professional groups. Drawing on osteopathy, neuroscience, psychology and breathwork, her sessions translate complex brain and body science into practical strategies people can understand, experience and use.
Her work explores how nervous system state influences performance, recovery and our ability to respond to pressure, giving participants simple tools they can take into everyday life.
Outside the clinic, she is usually found watching the sunrise, surfing, dancing, or spending time with her family — especially her dog, Axel.
